MIDLAND STUDENTS DO COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR EARTH DAY
Students at the Wyoming center observed Earth Day on Wed, April 24th from 1-3PM by going out into the communities and
helping to make a difference. Mrs. Jenny Eckhardt coordinated the various activities by contacting the mayors or city councilmen
in each town throughout the district to see what their needs were. Center Junction, Lost Nation, Monmouth, Oxford Junction, and Wyoming responded and
had jobs they needed help with. Students did things like pick up trash, plant trees, clean yards of elderly, painting,
raking, planting flowers, etc.
Pictured - Miss Determan, Miss Rath, Miss Chatterton and their amazing hard working group of students spent earth day picking up trash and sticks around the football field, baseball/softball field, and the fairgrounds

We received positive feed back from some community members on this project including:
Thank you Kris Doll and the crew that cleaned up the Antons farmyard Wedneday afternoon. You did a fantastic job. I appreciate it very much. It was a great Earth Day project. ~ Mrs. Antons
Thank you to the crew who cleaned up at Monmouth, you made a difference! ~ Vincent O'Hara
Thanks to the crew that cleaned up down town! ~ Sheri Tjaden, Wyoming City Clerk
We wish to thank the communities that let us come in and help out. It makes a great partnership and is a great way for kids to get out into the various communities within our district and they get to
experience the gratification of performing community service. Thankfully the weather cooperated a little better this year, though a bit cool it was dry.
Big thank you to the students who came and worked hard! You guys/gals are SUPER!
