Good Stuff All Midland Families Should Know

RSCHOOL: Activities Director Casey Hack recently unveiled a new online communication tool that all patrons of the district should be able to easily access and use. You can access it on the internet at: rSchool

This is a calendar which will show all school related events (early dismissals, holidays, concerts, school board meetings, etc.), activities (sports, club events, camps, etc), as well as full athletic schedules, sports rosters, building/gym usage, etc. To view a particular sport click on that under View Schedules, then click on VIEW. You can print any of these as well.

Many schools in the Tri Rivers Conference are already using rSchool so you can access their information as well. There is also a map which will show you how to get to the athletic field in use for each event.

We think this will be very beneficial to our community members. We hope you'll bookmark it on your computer and use it often!

HEALTH REMINDERS FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES K, 7, 9 AND 12: Nurse Gent wants to remind all parents of students who will be entering grades Kindergarten, 7, 9 and 12 of these health requirements. If the student does not meet the requirements they will not be allowed to start school in the fall. The covid 19 situation will NOT prevent this rule from being inforced, so call your health provider and get these scheduled if needed in the near future. Don't wait until late August to do so.

Thanks for your help keeping our kids well!

BUS SAFETY A MUST: Our transportation personnel want to extend a huge thank you to all who follow proper traffic safety procedures when you encounter one of our buses out on the roads. Our hearts go out to those who have been involved in tragedies involving stopped busses and bus stops recently. It reminds us to post these reminders to all.

Our drivers do turn in a small number of drivers who pass inappropriately, don't stop for red lights, etc. each year. Sheriff Graver says "That information goes to a pre-designated Trooper with the State Patrol who does the follow up and charges if there is probable cause to determine who was driving." We don't want anyone to be in trouble, but better that than risk the lives of our students.

Our students lives are FAR more important than a call or text or something, put down the phone, slow it down and follow the laws. Let's all get safely to our destinations.

MIDLAND FANS ASKED TO FOLLOW SPECTATOR EXPECTATIONS: Because we are proud of our school and our student athletes, we ask our fans to all read and follow these spectator expectations at all events both home and away.

Spectator Expectations Letter From Administrators

We have worked hard over the years to have a great sportsmanship rating and want to keep that up where it should be. Let's all set a great example for not only our students, but all students attending our events.

Thanks for supporting all Eagle athletics!

SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS, DRIVERS, CHAPERONES ALL NEED TO SIGN A FORM FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STUDENTS: Midland Community School District would like to thank you for showing interest in a rewarding way to serve students at all levels. Midland has new protocol regarding the safety of our students, we require background checks on all volunteers, chaperones, and drivers involved in school programs.

To begin, please completed the attached form (if applicable drivers license and insurance card) and background check form. Forms will need to be completed and returned to the district office.

Once forms are completed and returned to the district office (see below address), district office will process the forms. Please note the background check process (typically takes 2-5 days) will take longer during peak times, primarily at the beginning of the year and right after winter break.

After the background check is processed and cleared, volunteers, chaperones, and drivers are approved district-wide and are entered into a shared database accessible to office staff and building administrators.

Midland Guidelines for Volunteers, Chaperones, Drivers - needs filled out by anyone who wants to do one of these things for the school this year.
