5th Grade students took a field trip to Rock Creek near Camanche. They learned about wildlife on the Mississippi while they took a pontoon ride on the river. The naturalist stopped the boat in a sand pit area so students could get out and collect interesting river rocks. They got to learn how to steer a kayak and canoe in the backwaters. Students learned the proper way to shoot a bow and arrow and all the safety precautions you need to take as you participate in this sport. The 5th graders enjoyed working together while participating in team-building games. It was a fun-filled day!
