Welcome Back Mrs. Schroeder

Gennifer Schroeder started at Midland in 2014 (Miss Zirkelbach then) employed as a paraeducator and in various coaching positions. She graduated from William Penn University in December 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education with Strategist I and Reading endorsements. During the 20-21 year she did some substitute teaching for us. She returns to Midland Middle/High School this fall teaching 6th grade.

Gen lives in Maquoketa with her husband Nathan and their dog, Sophie of which Gen says “She’s my favorite topic of conversation and I always have a Sophie adventure story to share-just ask! In our free time, we enjoy spending time with friends and family, but especially traveling and exploring different National Parks. We’re slowly checking them off our bucket list. I also enjoy listening to true crime podcasts, tending to my houseplants, reading, working on home improvement projects (I’m usually working on at least two at a time) and running. I’m currently training for a half marathon in September!

“Schroeder continues “I’m so excited to be a part of the 6th grade team teaching Language Arts and Social Studies! I have been coaching with the softball program the past 3 seasons as Junior High coach and assisting the High School program. I will be coaching High School Volleyball this fall as well. I learned a lot in my year away from Midland, but I’m so glad to be back! Go Eagles!”

Welcome back Gennifer, we’re happy to have you back in “the nest”! We are excited to see what adventures you’ll have with your sixth graders. We look forward to many adventure stories!
