Our 6th graders spent the afternoon outside doing various activities related to the eclipse on April 8th.
Mrs. Yousse said “I believe the kids had a great time viewing the eclipse and learning a little bit more about why and how this phenomenon happens. They also had an opportunity to paint rocks to commemorate the experience while they kept track of the movement of the moon going over the sun using the models they cut out. We also had great themed snacks including Sun Chips, Little Debbie Star Crunch and Cosmic Brownies, and special eclipse sugar cookies which they washed down with a Capri Sun drink pouch. Lastly, we discussed the power of the sun by popping balloons using magnifying glasses. It turned out to be a great learning experience that they should remember for years to come!”
Thanks Mother Nature for providing some extra learning opportunities this month.
