5th Grade Service Learning Project
The 5th Grade class is doing a service learning project in conjunction with Midland graduate Alex Lehrman to help kids in Djibouti, Africa. About 80% of the population of Djibouti is in poverty. They have limited access to schools and school supplies. We are collecting specific school supplies in order to assemble a school supply kit and help kids who are less fortunate than us. Alex will be going to Africa this spring and will personally deliver the supplies to kids who need them. We are looking for donations of small pencil sharpeners, big erasers, crayons, pens, pencils, and notebooks. Our goal is to assemble 50 school supply kits. We are asking our Midland students to help us synergize and reach our goal! Supplies can be sent to school with your student. Monetary donations are accepted as well. We will buy any supplies we need to complete our project. All donations will be accepted until February 26, 2025. We appreciate any help you can give to support our project!
