Mrs. Mackenzie Lasack is a 2015 MHS grad who returned to Midland to join the counseling department in August 2020. Mackenzie received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her masters in school counseling from Loras College. She previously worked in the Midland District as a substitute teacher and middle school girls’ volleyball and basketball coach. She says “I can’t wait to continue to give back to such an amazing community!” Mackenzie will help our juniors and seniors with their scheduling needs this year.

Ms. Santana Chapman, LMSW, is the new Midland School Social Worker. Santana grew up in Jones County and graduated from Monticello High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Iowa State University and her master’s in social work from the University of Northern Iowa, and is currently a Licensed Master in Social Work (LMSW) in the state of Iowa. Santana has a work history of providing counseling and crisis management in a variety of settings ranging from victim services, to the Suicide Lifeline, to hopsice social work. Santana says “I am so excited to collaborate with the Midland School District to provide students with supportive therapy and mental health crisis services!”
