Congratulations to Midland senior Wyatt Christiansen and junior Dane Ballou who both qualified for the 2026 State Wrestling Tournament.
Wyatt entered the tournament in #157 seeded 23 and wrestled hard but came up short in his two matches at state against the #10 and #8 seeds.
Dane came in seeded 7th in the 175# division. He had a bye in the first round, then won by tech fall against the #10 wrestler. In the third round he came up against a very tough #2 seed Christoffer from Don Bosco and lost by tech fall. Dane didn’t let that disuade him, he came back through the consolation bracket winning by tech fall over the #6 seed and by fall over the #4 seed before losing to the #5 seed in a close match 4-2. Dane finished in 4th place in 175#.
We are proud of both wrestlers! They both represented themselves and Midland with great pride.
