Archery Success

Midland Archery Club is having a successful 3rd season.  This year we have 23 student archers shooting in both bullseye and 3D target competitions.  Our goal is always to just do better than ourselves and improve with each shot.  Nearly every archer has recorded new personal bests in competition so far this season with 2 tournaments left to go in February.  Each and every archer has put in the work and shows improvement.

As of the end of January we currently have one student who has qualified for the State NASP Competition.  BayLee Feckers is an 8th grade student.  She is consistently our leading scorer at competition.  To qualify for state a middle school student has to have a total of 516 points in their top 2 tournament events.  BayLee actually qualified at her second tournament of the season and has been working to improve her scores since.

We have much to be thankful for this season.  We would like to thank all of the parents for their support of our student archers.  A number of local businesses and organizations have provided financial support and allowed us to purchase new and additional equipment.  We were able to purchase 5 new bullseye targets and a curtain to allow us to practice up to 20 archers in one session.  Last spring Jackson County Whitetails gave us a donation that allowed us to purchase a full set of 3D targets to practice with as well.  Russ Marr from Bear Creek Archery has come into practice and given us pointers and advice.   One more HUGE thank you to our additions to the all volunteer coaching staff Jake Gravel and Sam Moore.  We couldn’t do the things we have done without you!
