Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we get ready for the new school year, we’re excited to begin using our new SchoolMessenger text messaging system to keep you informed about important school updates, reminders, and emergency notifications.
If you recently texted “Y” or “YES” to 67587, thank you! There is one more important step to complete your enrollment.
If you received a text message from 67587 last Friday (or receive one in the future), please reply with “Y” to that message. This final reply confirms that you want to receive text messages from our school. Simply texting “Y” to 67587 starts the process, but replying “Y” to the confirmation text completes it.
If you did not receive a confirmation text, your contact information may not be fully set up in PowerSchool. In many cases, we’ve found that one parent’s information is complete, while the second parent may be missing a cell phone number, email address, or a PowerSchool access account. Our building secretaries are working through these situations as quickly as possible, and we’ll continue creating accounts and updating contact information as time allows.
Once your account is ready, you’ll receive the confirmation text. Please be sure to read the instructions and reply “Y” to finish opting in.
While reviewing your information, we also encourage you to verify that your PowerSchool Contacts page is complete.
For each parent or guardian, please make sure we have:
- Full name
- Relationship to the student
- Cell phone number
- Home phone number (if applicable)
- Email address
- Mailing address
- Communication permissions selected
For each emergency contact, please include:
- Full name
- Relationship to the student
- Phone number
- Communication permissions selected
Please note that text messages can only be sent to parents, legal guardians, and school staff. If grandparents or other family members would like to receive updates, a parent or guardian will need to share those messages with them.
If you haven’t started the process yet, it’s not too late! Simply text “Y” to 67587. When you receive the confirmation text, reply with “Y” to complete your enrollment.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to this new communication system. We know there are a few bumps along the way, but we’re confident this system will provide faster and more reliable communication for our families throughout the school year.
