Midland Elementary in Oxford Junction held their groundbreaking ceremony on April 4, 2024. All of the students, staff, some board members and OPN (architects) representatives were in attendance. Midland 5th Graders recently completed the DARE program with Jones County Deputy Rickels. Throughout the course of the program, they learned effective strategies to resist peer pressure and avoid making choices that can result in negative consequences. On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Midland community voters will decide on renewing the district’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL), which provides crucial funding for maintenance, security, technology, transportation, and equipment needs. Approval of this measure would continue the current levy for another 10 years without increasing taxes.
